Timothy Lowman's paper entitled "Intellectual Property Aspects of Labour and Employment in Canada: Ownership, Intangibles, Personal Rights and Transfers (With Forms)" has been selected for publication in the June 2008 volume of the ABA-ALI Business Law Journal.
On May 4, 2008, Timothy M. Lowman and Kenneth D. McKay were granted
the status of Certified Licensing Professional (CLP). The Certified
Licensing Professional Program, an initiative of Licensing Executives
Society (LES), recognizes the licensing professional’s experience,
qualifications, education and professional development.
On April 3, 2008, Sim, Lowman, Ashton & McKay LLP received the Managing
Intellectual Property/EuroMoney North American Award for Canadian Copyright
Case of the Year for its representation of Kraft Canada Ltd., Kraft
Jacob-Suchard. AG and Kraft Foods Belgium SA in. Kraft Canada Inc. v.
Euro-Excellence Inc. in the Federal Court, the Federal Court of Appeal and
the Supreme Court of Canada.
The Managing Intellectual Property North American Awards are the result of
five months of survey research involving the market and the IP profession to
identify counsel who excel in regional markets and in specific areas of IP.
